The waffle stitch is a fun stitch pattern because it is a simple stitch combination that pays off big time with wonderful texture. If you want something a little fancier, this Waffle Stitch dishcloth has a nice border that you could use on this blanket to add a little extra detail. ![]() Even a couple of rows of single crochets around would look lovely. But I know it would also look good with a simple, solid-type border too. To keep this pattern extra simple, I didn’t add a border and think it looks great without one. Once you get the hang of the stitch pattern, it works up really quickly. ![]() I’ve found it simpler to work a foundation double crochet row instead of trying to keep count of and work into a long chain, but you do whichever works best for you.įrom row 2 on, the stitch pattern is made by alternating when you use the double crochet stitch and when you use the front post double crochet stitch. If you know how to do a foundation double crochet row, I would highly suggest working it instead of starting with a foundation chain. Like with any waffle stitch pattern, your first row is going to be double crochets. ![]()
